Sculpture

Artist Statment

Formally, the sculpture is an object that defines space within the context of its intended aesthetic function. The responsibility to the aesthetic experience gives meaning to its technical and conceptual processes. Since I am a ceramicist, the launch pad of my work is grounded in the pottery wheel. The anthropomorphic language of lips, neck, shoulder, belly, and feet is an intuitive framework for me to make and think about ceramics sculpture. Basically, a sculpture holds abstract meaning like a cup holds coffee.
